Hey it's been a little quiet, and I have a little time, being on vacation and all, so who has a controversial topic they'd like to discuss? Let's try to stay away from gossip, or mean topics like church splits and stuff...

For example, I think that Obama is really spending my kids future away and I can't get the 4500 trade-in credit for my car even though I need a new one, but I still have to pay for Joe Blo's trade-in through taxes..and that just isn't fair!

(There is probably a better topic, but just pretend to argue and then start a new controversy. It's fun!)

How can anybody argue against THAT???

Sorry, I just got home from a state convention that emphasized the Father's love. I am at peace.

satan's way of trying to destroy and put a stop to Church Youth Camps....which is one of the biggest youth revivals every year. He HATES seeing children and teens delivered by God from drug addiction, alchoholism, cutting, etc.

I'm not sure, I think this is a case of overspiritualizing a practical and logical situation.

Year-round schools stink but I wouldn't give Satan credit for stuff he isn't doing. God forbid, we give that guy enough credit already.

Practical solutions would include things such as...

1. Change your youth camp dates! Be flexible...if they have a two-week vacation here or there, try to adapt. Or break up the camps into regions that can better adapt to their locality's school schedule. Or have a series of weekend retreats. There are ways around scheduling conflicts.

2. Offer the kids a solid, year-round ministry that they can latch onto and not have to rely on camp for a spiritual high every year. God knows half my friends that I went to camp with got saved at camp and lost it weeks later...I'm not picking on people, that's how it went.

3. Write your school board and tell them their year-round idea sucks. (i didn't type that last word, I typed a word that rhymes with DUCKS but apparently it gets edited)

Wow Racerunner, I suppose all those misbegotten kids in China -where Christianity is flourishing- must only THINK they've been delivered since they have no summer youth camps. But, to their benefit they have you to disabuse you of their notions.

Sad that youth revivals only happen at camp and not in the local church, and only once a year instead of monthly, weekly and daily.

My wife has been teaching 19 years in a school which uses the year round schedule, she wouldn't have it any other way...
