You can't force or manufacture the cool factor. You either have it, or you are Micro$oft.

I dont know, Apple has done a pretty good job of it over the past few years.

Try watching it with no sound -- as my computer's sound card is disconnected when I got the new hard drive put in. I never used it anyway, but ....

Point is, without sound, it is very lame. I can only imagine how worse it is with half-hearted voices chiming in.

That was so very, very nauseatingly not cool. Micro$oft is to cool what Joe Biden is to suave. No matter how much Brut 33 they put on Windows, it still stinks. And, no, I don't have a Mac -- yet.

Yes, and MAC is now at an all-time high Market share

MACs market share has hit an all-time high now. It is now up to 5.26% :?

I still can't use a MAC because it's market share is so small that ESRI doesn't make it's software available for it; I would have to emulate windows which would defeat the purpose of going to a MAC.

Really? It was 9.4 in September. The stock is soaring.

Bummer on the platform lock. The software companies refusing to port their speciality apps run the risk of being leapfrogged by an enterprising group ( Google, Adobe, Apple etc ). So is the way of the dinosaur.

Do you get a sense that Mac's market share is reaching a critical mass for Micro$oft? If they're at 10%, roughly, now, what will happen if it reaches 15% or 20%? Does the wall fall, finally? Do people suddenly toss up their hands and start flowing over to Mac? Will MS finally actually provide a platform that really, honestly, truly, actually, factually, without-a-doubtually does not suffer from the myriad of problems that Windows always provides?

If Windows were a car, the CPSC would've ruled it off the road years ago. Ralph Nader would've made a sequel to "Not Safe At Any Speed" devoted to Windows.
