I just heard on the news that Oprah will no longer be doing her daytime talk show? I'm curious as to your opinions. Will this mean less influence of her new age religion on the general public? Or a more "sacred" following since she does have her own cable channel? How will this play out in the realm of "spiritual" things in these times?

not so sure what this will do with her "religious" views. I have never liked and am glad to know she'll be off the air.
With her name recognition and love of herself, I can see her entering politics.
it has become quite a surprise here

in the Windy City....but she has always said she is not going to "do this forever."
And her show is still the HARDEST TICKET in town to get....

Frankly, I never understood why so many people are drawn to her. Just another blobbity-blah-blah talker on TV as far as I can tell. But, boy she sure is self-important, announcing two years out that her show is ending, being all teary about it and it getting such news coverage. Of course, she's done this before. Some folks can never get enough attention.

Just tell me Judge Judy is staying on and I'm okay. She's the real Queen of daytime TV right now.

...
What if the life that we pursue
Came from a hunger for the truth
What if the family turned to Jesus
Stopped asking Oprah what to do
What if His people prayed
And those who bare His name
Would humbly seek His face
And turn from their own way

Right on, but as long as she had all that monies, she still has power. She proved that with Obama and his election. As long as she has that monies she will have followers. Sad but true.
