Since Jesus prayed that the Father's will be done on Earth as in Heaven and instructed that we should pray in said manner as well can one conclude that.....

1. Since Jesus requested it then it shall be done.

or

2. God's will is not always performed on Earth though it is in heven and that is why we are to make request for such.

God's decretive will is always done on earth, and one of the means by which it is done is God's answering the prayers of His people requesting that it be done.

Certainly Jesus may have prayed this as His own prayer at some point,--in fact I'm sure He probably did: He was all about His Father's will. But the Lord's Prayer isn't necessarily what Jesus would Himself pray at every point, because in part of the prayer He prays for the forgivenss of tresspasses. He had no tresspass to confess. I think it is more of intruction for us, rather than His own prayer at every point.

I'm glad you brought this up. Very interesting to think about.

Blessings,
Tracy

Mt 6:5
¶ And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Mt 6:6
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Mt 6:7
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Mt 6:8
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Mt 6:9
¶ After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Mt 6:10
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Mt 6:11
Give us this day our daily bread.
Mt 6:12
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Mt 6:13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Mt 6:14
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
Mt 6:15
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

As ambassadors for Christ it is not our will, but the will of the Father. An ambassadors have no authority of their own--they speak and act on behalf of their ruler. And yes, even Jesus prayed for the Father's will be done. Even when He know what the will of the Father was He had to allow his will to be fulfilled in him. We also need to pray that the Father's will is allowed to be fulfilled here in our lives on earth.
