Well...some say Jesus was black...and we do allow Santa many of the characteristics of Jesus...so why not a black Santa...

Me and you both...gotta LOVE those sunglasses though...what I want to know is WHY any parent would let their kid take a picture with this Santa...unless it was simply for the sake of this hilarious picture...

Also...hope you noted that the black Jesus/black Santa comments were pure sarcasm!

Good grief! Some of those Santas scare me... My Lexie has never had her photo made with Santa... When she was younger (2 or 3) she didn't even want him to come to her house... She would say "he can come to you house Na'na and leave my toys"... It terrified her to think this person was coming in her house with her asleep...

Well...some say Jesus was black...and we do allow Santa many of the characteristics of Jesus...so why not a black Santa...

I don't think it's his race that makes this picture so bad... it's the fact that it looks like he's barely awake and making no attempt to make that beard look like it goes on his face! In Hawaii we have mall Santa's of all races. One popular one is a Hawaiian dude -- very brown with a NATURAL white beard. We also have a Santa who speaks sign language and during certain parents bring their deaf children to sit on his lap. Gotta tell you, that's pretty much a tear-jerker when the kids' eyes light up and they realize Santa speaks and understands their language.

I hope my comment does not offend anyone...it was not intended to sound as it might or could be read...I don't believe in Santa anyway...never have...so I don't care what a person's race is that wants to portray him...I just know that I've always seen him in photos, movies, books, and by actors as caucasian...so that is the foundation for my comment about his race...and I agree...his race has nothing to do with the "sketchy" look...there were just as many white Santas that I wouldn't let my kid set with...some of them looked drunk, stoned, or both!
