Streaming Service

Okay we are trying. Have been hesitant in sharing publicly but..

We have begun streaming our services on Sunday AM.

Its a lot of work. Always is. We are still in the learning phase of our new equipment and the streaming software.

Audio is the biggest issue. If you watch some On Demand videos you will find the sermons audio is okay. P&W we are still working on it.

We are using a company called Livestream. From what I gather it has a higher learning curve than some of the other free streaming services.. It was formerly called Mogulus ???

One of the biggest tech issues is due to the computer I am using to stream with. Its a older laptop. Audio is coming in on the Mic jack. Should be in on a Line IN..

I was in the process of building our streaming computer and had to put some purchases on hold LOL

So If you get a chance please watch and ignore the dust for a while.

Thanks

Billy, thanks for the link. I have (had) a Mogulus account as well as uStream, but never explored it much, and didn't know they merged/changed names. I'll have my tech guys look into it.

As for sound: we had the same learning curve issues. The signal from your sound board is too hot. We ended up using a second, small audio mixer -- the main board does the house and monitor mixes, and we patch out a raw feed to the small audio mixer, and it is used to feed the streaming computer a stepped down audio signal.

An observation: you have the same problem we have: empty seats in the front rows spoiling wide shots!

We finally had to just ask people to sit up front.

Tammy uses livestream for her web design classes. I'm poised to use it for some live blog casts in the near future. Nice software! We really like it.

billy- you guys are doing a great job. I enjoyed watching a few weeks back, when I was unable to get to church.

Kewl. I have setup two accounts with livestream.

One for the church and one for me to use.

Pastor G there new procaster software is awesome. It allows you to switch back and forth between a camera and say Powerpoint with a click of button.

You can actually use there studio software to switch between cameras. etc.

We use Live Stream Here and post the code within our own site and it works great. We use an Adobe program to to make it high quality. You can go to www.ugcogop.org and click Watch Live Services to see it. Very easy to use.
