This year has been a fantastic year. Several people came together to purchase for nancy and I a 2005 Ford Expedition, Eddie Bauer...with no payments clear title.

A business man from church gave me a new blackberry smart phone with unlimited plan world phone..which he pays for the plan, again at no monthly cost to us.

Christmas home with my wife....hundreds of children receiving their christmas shoeboxes.....it truly has been a great christmas

and preserving yourself.

Christmas Gifts

Postby Pastor Gary » December 25th, 2009, 11:13 pm

I received...

• A wonderful, hand-written letter from Felma, my Compassion sponsored child from the Philippines.

• Notification that our four Operation Christmas shoeboxes were delivered to Peru and China.

• The opportunity to be Santa's helper, providing some gifts for the children of a family unable to have a real Christmas this year.

• A wonderful, quiet day with my wife, daughter and a couple of young men.

• A lovely night out with Amy, seeing AVATAR 3D. (Incredible visually!)

...and on the material side...

• An Apple Magic Mouse- very slick.

• The ULTIMATE iPhone protective case, the iBand d30 (You have to see this to even believe it!)

• A replacement for the office TV that was pretty much shot: a total surprise - 32# wall mount flat panel LCD TV.

A wonderful Christmas in every way.

you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

Pastor Gary,

(Sorry Rahab, hijack) Would the Avatar movie be okay for my 11 year old son? He's wanting to see it.

As for my Christmas, I got to watch my new and first grandbaby try to eat more presents than she tried to open. :D Priceless!

Well, there were people in the theater with babies, toddlers and small kids... but to answer your question, it depends upon the kid: The movie has some language (crusty war talk cussing) but is not cuss-filled; there are intense battle scenes in which people and animals get killed; there is a bunch of Hollywood lefty propaganda --(all corporations are evil and will do whatever it takes to trample anyone in the way, white people steal land and resources from the indigenous, the military-types are bad...)-- but a good discussion about bias will cover that.

If your son is mature and able to handle intensity, he will be blown away by the beauty of the movie and spellbound by most of it.

If I were to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for business. I do the very best I know how, the very best I can, and I mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out right, what is said against me won't amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swearing I was right will make no difference." -Abraham Lincoln

Shellie,

I am not PG.... I took my boys (12 & 9) and they both loved it. My youngest said it was his all time favorite, but what ever movie we have most recently seen is usually his "all time favorite" It is a long movie so prepare for that.

Shellie, we took Patrick and I had no problem at all with it.. checked Plugged in online.. thought the violence was minimal and it was pretty family friendly overall for a preteen.

I got....

this nice new laptop you can "see" I am using.. :)

and some other nice things from my dear husband.. a night out with my family Christmas Eve to dinner, the mall (to catch Santa right before he left), and a Christmas Eve service..

then to Avatar Christmas Day which was awesome!
..I press on to take hold of that
for which Christ took hold of me.
