One of my daughter's friends said the Obama females were seen shopping in Windward Mall today, right up the street from me. That explains the traffic on a Tuesday.

Tori works as a Teachers Aide at Le Jardin Academy, a private school for rich kids. (lots of kids from LOST cast, etc.)
They were on a field trip playing mini-golf on the Marine Base today when the Presidential motorcade drove past, and Obama had his window rolled down and was waving to the kids as he passed. No matter who you vote for, being close to any President is something rare and memorable.

I agree... There is just something about him that seems personable, if he would just get his head straight on the issues and stuff...I might even like him...

Good for him, and good for his family...

I'm glad those girls are getting to see some of their family history....at least on their father's side.

Local news says the Obama family/entourage is taking in Avatar 3D (private screening, of course, for security reasons) and the only theater so equipped on Windward Oahu is at Windward Mall where we saw the movie. It's a small community.

Yep. Amy went with a friend to see the Chipmunks movie (I refused to waste 2 hours of my life on that film) and had to pass through magnetometers and submit to bag searches and they even checked her iPhone for some reason. High security all around the parking lot and theater... she said people are standing on top of vehicles with cameras.
It's a mall... full of people shopping. You'd think they could have picked a stand-alone theater with less foot traffic, but this is the closest screen to Kailua with 3D capability.

My daughter just got back from seeing that movie this afternoon. Only (dadgum it) we're not in Hawaii.
