I need to move

Postby Pastor Gary » January 5th, 2010, 8:31 pm

I think it would be so much easier to live in the neat, tidy, black/white world some of you seem to live in, where people fit into neat categories and there are never any situations to which you must say "I have no idea..."

My world is just way more complex than yours.
"God is excited to show you mercy. He rises to give you His compassion." (Isaiah 30:18)

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

Add to that a global prespective and one finds out that the only one true and constant answer in this life is Jesus.
You cannot effectively love and minister to others when you are obsessed with protecting
and preserving yourself.

:applaud:

The Lord is revealing more and more to me personally of what all Jesus really did for us and it's extremely liberating.

Comes with the territory of being a State/Regional Overseer. My dad sometimes voiced the same sentiment.

I have to admit. I once "lived" in that world.

But, it all changed when we left the C world and so many things weren't as we "believed".

Our first conflict was to find the most GODLY couple we have ever known in our lives. They had both been married before and it took us a LONG time to get past that hurdle.

Then, to find out that they drank a glass of wine with dinner sometimes!!! LOOK OUT NOW!

And, they didn't "speak in tongues" yet believed they were FILLED with the Spirit when they got saved.

That was just the start.

In the past 27 years, we have had SO MANY of our "beliefs" and "constants" challenged by the Holy Spirit and then had them come falling down like the Walls of Jericho!!!

Yeah, I'm with you, my Brother.
God Bless You

Response: I think that's a bit of drama.

If you had posted a post about ministering to transgendered people without linking it to a scripture blessing eunuchs there may have been a more clear understanding of your position. However, since people use such scriptures to condone continued perversions, responses were somewhat reasonable.

We minister to homosexuals, have some that come to church and participate in homeless ministry. We minister to the abused children, spouses, drug addicts, the over medicated, under medicated   and any type of sinner that the Lord might send.

It's a false impression that no one else really is involved in real ministry.

If I'm way off base on the prompts behind this post, forgive me it just seemed that's what you were driving at. 8)
