Superbowl Commercials..

Postby Jennifer Smith » February 7th, 2010, 2:10 pm

Let me first get on my soapbox for a moment. I despise the GoDaddy commercial with the two women.. distasteful!~

But the Bridgestone tire "Free Willy" commercial was great.. :)
..I press on to take hold of that
for which Christ took hold of me.

"Keep your hands off my mom and keep your hands off my Doritos"

Commercials were pretty lame this year. For $3million for a 30second spot, I expected more. The "Tim Tebow" commercial was a waste of money IMHO. I thought there was going to be more of a message with that.
Let the wild rumpus start!

Actually, the Tim Tebow buzz before the commercial gave them more for their money than the spot ever could. Someone estimated that Focus got at least $10 million in free publicity out of that. I think this is one of those "wise as serpents, harmless as doves" moments. Good for them. I think the true test would be the hits on the Web site.

I also liked the Vizio commercial that took internet stuff and put it into the HDTV, because it featured our friend's kid, David, doing his "Is this real life?" line from the viral video "David After Dentist." Really cool that people we see almost everyday have a kid featured in a Super Bowl spot.

Not a huge fan of Will.I.Am, but I thought his commercial for Flo Tv was great:

I guess I didn't really "get" the dog one.. or maybe it just didn't appeal.
But the dorito in the side of the neck.. that was hilarious.. :D

and vice versa for me. I just didn't get that one, there was humor, but it didn't seem in the appropriate atmosphere and was lost for me.
