I have my feelings about Haiti and how they could probably be so much more without the corruption in the government and general miss management or flat out theft of millions in aid to that region. I will reserve those feeling to say that this video literally had me in tears.
I guess it was the nostalgic feel from the original or something, or it could be because I am a big softy when it comes to emotional music anyway......I cry like a baby at almost all good worship songs. :)

Anyway, what do you think? Aside from the cheesy Michael and Janet duet verse, and Barbra Streisand :) I thought it was pretty good.

Sorry

I hate that song, and the original.

If a songwriter is going to reference scripture, it would be a great idea for them to actually READ some. This line:

"As God has shown us by turning stones to bread" is just 100% opposite of what the Bible says.

Luke 4:3-4 "The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread." Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone.'"

Bah. Get a Bible. Read it.

I like the modern spin they put on it.

Gary, the offending verse has been changed. Perhaps they monitor our Facebook and Jude2. :-)

I don't think the original's intent was sacrilege, probably more like biblical ignorance. My guess is MJ wrote it and got confused, meant the loaves the fishes. It is wrong, as you've pointed out but I doubt it was a diabolical plan. I mixed up the two Lazuruses once in witnessing and I'd been a Christian for about ten years.

As far as the new one, I kinda like it but I like the original better. I don't like the rappers part and I think Gladys Knight should have had a solo before some of those others.

Okay

For that, I give them props.

I never thought it a diabolical plan; just sloppy lyrics, and far to big a project to allow such sloppiness. You know in that original recording were dozens who grew up in church and knew that line was flawed.

meh.

Barbara Streisand?? Really?? Had to get a big lefty in the video to pull in money from that side, but... the rhythmic talking stuff; people, I know it sells records, but rhythmic talking is not a musical talent. Period.

Oh, yeah: Autotune?? Wasn't that a tired old style 3 or 4 years ago??
