A different kind of Valentine.

Postby Susie Hamilton » February 14th, 2010, 12:53 pm

Last night my church had a valentine's party for the couples. This afternoon the Pastor and his wife hosted a valentine's party for the singles at their house. The Asst Pastor lives across the street from him. We all met at the Pastor's house and had snacks. Then the guys left and went across the street to Asst Pastor's house for a talk while we ladies stayed at Pastor's house to talk. We each gave info to our background about relationships, thots and experiences. Then Pastor's wife talked to us about her experiences and Biblical principles. The guys then came back and we had mutual exchanges about the topics we each had brought up, nice discussion.
Then Pastor asked if anyone needed prayers for hurts in dealing with relationships. Needless to say it turned into an awesome prayer service. It really was nice for all of us to be able to open up about past hurts and share them with others and receive prayers and support in a safe environment.
I think more churches should do this.
To God be the Glory.

That sounds great! It is wonderful that they have thoughtful hearts to minister to individual's needs. I know the Lord lays those types of ideas on the hearts of those who will listen and pay attention to the needs of others around them.
..I press on to take hold of that
for which Christ took hold of me.
