Local assistant DA's wife killed last week

Last Monday evening I was driving back to Moulton from Huntsville when I hit one of the notorious traffic snarls as you approach the Tennessee River from the north; they're common when wrecks north of the bridge coming out of Decatur. I was near a median and was able to turn around and take an alternate route home.

This occasion involved a wreck where the driver was a young woman who, I learned only today after having been out of town last week, was the wife of one of the assistant DA's here in Morgan County. Very young and just overall sweet tempered guy whom I've found very nice to get to know somewhat. His wife was buried this weekend. The other attorneys were talking about it and said that her mother was on the phone with her at the time of the wreck and actually heard her scream and then the impact. She was ejected from the car and, according to the local news, her seatbelt broke.

Just another deeply sad and awful fact of life that these things happen, but I hope you'll mention this fellow in your prayers. He might not appreciate being named in a post like this, so I'll just share his initials - G.V.
