Mars rovers "Spirit" and "Opportunity" were successful beyond NASA's wildest dreams. Now they're building a new, nuclear-powered Mini Cooper-sized rover to be lowered onto Mars by a hovering drop ship in 2013. Meet "Curiosity," the new Mars Science Laboratory.

Cool.

I am a person that also has a great deal of curiosity about space and our solar system and the advancement of science and all. But man I just see that now is not the time to be dropping untold billions on these types of explorations. The money that NASA receives in grants is just astronomical and quite frankly I think at this time is a HUGE waste.

But it is definitely cool MacUser!

That is so cool. I can't wait for us to be able to go to the moon (people that is). To explore that planet, is going to be awesome. I love exploration. I have no problem with us spending money on it even though I understand what you are saying Brian.

Very cool Macuser.. COOL!!!!

don't the realize that handing over a nuclear reactor and weapons grade LASER to the first Martian that comes along is going to cause internal conflicts, feudal wars, even self annihilation with arms races?!?!!
