I was in Cleveland, Tn. yesterday for the funeral of Leonard Kendrick. Pastor Wilson, Overseer of SC Tim Coalter and Overseer of NC Steve Gilmer did a wonderful job. Brother Kendrick's Nephew, Dale Vicars, and Vonnie Gilmer's songs were such a blessing. Daughter Jill gave a very moving talk and played the piano so well. I am thankful that God gave me the privilege of knowing such a wonderful and dedicated Christian as Brother Kendrick. I will never forget our times of worship and fellowship that we have had together over the past years.

This was THE funeral that I've asked the LORD to delay for a long time...but God knew when it was time to bring my most wonderful friend home to heaven.

The funeral was sweet, warm, and loving, just like the man whom it was designed to honor.

I sat with my friend, Sister Coalter (Tim's mom), and basically bawled the entire service. When the meeting opened with the church singing, "Won't It Be Wonderful There" I knew I would have a hard time keeping my eyes dry.

All three speakers were tremendous....this meeting honored Leonard Kendrick, and it glorified God.

In the end that is all that matters anyway...God's glory.

Wasn't Bro Kendrick married to Bro Curry's daughter and was he not the General Treasure at one time? If so then Steve Gilmar was his nephew too.

Being such long time sence I lived in Cleveland but I remember him being such a nice and humble man of God.

I believe that the world could use some more people like Bro Kendrick. I know that he will be missed.

Yes, Brother Kendrick's widow is Joyce Curry Kendrick. Joyce is one of Brother Curry's three daughters. The other two are Barbara Gilmer, and Betty Vicars.

Steve Gilmer, the now overseer for the Church of God of Prophecy in North Carolina is Brother Kendrick's nephew. He preached the keynote sermon for this wonderful service. He preached a POWERFUL Gospel message....

And yes, my dearest friend on this earth, Leonard Kendrick, will be SORELY missed.
