The man who originated the idea of "Earth Day," born of Christian convictions, has roots deep in modern pentecostalism (Assemblies of God) as his grandfather was at Azusa Street.

I don't have a problem with conservation, moderation, etc. I don't like some of the promo tactics and materials, especially those aimed at kids.. ie. "the earth is our friend" "mother earth" etc..
God made the earth and since I value His creation, I can appreciate the general idea.. That is, when it's not pushed down my throat or my kids' in a smarmy way!

..I press on to take hold of that
for which Christ took hold of me.
