The man who originated the idea of "Earth Day," born of Christian convictions, has roots deep in modern pentecostalism (Assemblies of God) as his grandfather was at Azusa Street.

I don't have a problem with conservation, moderation, etc. I don't like some of the promo tactics and materials, especially those aimed at kids.. ie. "the earth is our friend" "mother earth" etc..
God made the earth and since I value His creation, I can appreciate the general idea.. That is, when it's not pushed down my throat or my kids' in a smarmy way!

So is it that we celebrate "Earth Day" or creation in hopes that people will see the Creator in his creation? If not then we are just worshipping his creation and not the Creator.
