Steve Land and Jack Hayford will be MARVELOUS.

I've known Steve Land for about 14 years now. He was one of my seminary professors back in the 1990s, and is a dear, precious friend now.

I just spent about an hour with him on Monday afternoon (after Brother Kendrick's funeral)...

He is SO EXCITED about speaking to this gathering...and he will be wonderful.

Jack Hayford has ALWAYS been one of my favorite preachers. After J E Brisson, Pastor Jack is my favorite Pentecostal preacher....and one of the very best in the "Pentecostal" segment of the "family."

Those in attendance will be blest beyond measure by these two great servants of the LORD....

Hayford is excellent. I have heard him speak in person. He will not be "Pentecostal" enough to suit some of our COGOP people, I suspect, because he has a reasoned, somewhat conversational delivery.

Many Pentecostal like to brag that "The largest church in the world (Yoido Full-Gospel, Seoul" is Pentecostal!" but would be surprised if they attended a service there. Very formal, liturgical, structured and not at all what a lot of U.S. Pentecostals would recognize.

Trust me, Jack Hayford is VERY Pentecostal...He's just not South-Eastern USA Pentecostals.

And I've been to Yoido...

Yes it is very structured, and it was close to being liturgical.

Of course Pentecostals in Scandinavia are almost the same way.

So what many folks view as "Pentecostal" is more cultural than anything else. And thankfully, the Holy Spirit can use our "culture" in reaching people for Christ...and in maturing believers.

Some of us can't, but HE can.
