You guys know any good sites sources for a used laptop.
My laptop is dieing It will run on battery but not on AC
turn the laptop off and it will charge battery up to 100 %
But when you turn it on with it plugged up it starts switching between AC and Battery for a few min then it stops on AC power charging but the battery life just continues down.
Last for about 1.5 hours
My regular source for laptops is out at the moment.

Billy we'll have a bunch up on ebay over the next few months, hopefully we do them in batches of 30-40 at a time, and I hoped to have a batch up this week, but it will probably be next week.
Dell Latitude D610s and D620s, I can get you the specs if you want. These are returned computers from our student laptop program on campus, they are 4-5 years old, but our techs check them to make sure everything is working before we put them up.
look for seller name BereaCollege2008 (I know I need to update the year, but haven't gotten to it yet)

I thought of that but its not the original and the adapter plugged into the computer charges it just fine. And when it is plugged up, charged up the computer switches back and forth between AC power and Battery as the source of power.
thanks Bill, what are the specs if you dont mind. let me know when you list them on EBAY.

That tells me that one leg of the power source is shorting out or maybe even burnt in the power adapter. When it isn't under any load it will charge the battery but when plugged in and laptop on it will switch between the two. When it shouldn't do that, it should use the AC only. Therefore the AC adapter is cutting out and it then switches to battery. The battery may not even being fully charged although it indicate it's 100% An good why to check that is to boot up and if the battery is indicating 100% then shut down and remove battery then reinstall battery, boot up again and see if it is the same %. If not the same it wasn't an 100% charged.
Good luck.

mostly Dell Latitude D610s with close to these specs (there are 30 ready to go up probably Wednesday, and this is randomly pulled from one of those)
14.1 inch screen
Intel Pentium M 1.8 GHz
1 GB RAM
60 GB Hard Drive
CDRW/DVD Combo drive
can't guarantee the batteries on them, because they are old, most of the batteries are not original, but have been replaced at least once.

Thanks Bill for the info.,
have been watching some d610s on ebay this weekend. Price is about right.
Question for you or anyone else.
I know very little on processor performance inf anymore. Is there a website that compares processor speed. Ie
Lattitude D610 vs Inspiron 1000 or 2450 etc
I have an inspiron 1000 that is going bad.. Is the D610/620 faster processor>????

What processor does the inspiron have in it?
The inspiron is Dell's consumer line, processors would be similar to the latitude line of the same age, main differences are the latitudes are a little more sturdy, but there is a good range of processors available for each model, so it really depends on what specifically is in it.

Thanks Bill, found them. curios though.
They listed about 30 of them All of them are coming due within 30 or forty min. why not space them out a bit.
Also I looked at the details on 5 or 6 of them Why do none of them have AC power cords?? I could a few of them not having them but all.
Just wondering. I am bidding on one of the latest computes. wanting to watch and see what some of the others are going for.. LOL

yeah, we've run low on power cords, we sold them with most of the first ones we had, but we're only sent one with each computer, and many have gotten pulled apart, or run over by chairs and things, so we're down in numbers on those.
We load these in batches through an ebay loader and that's how it does, to do them individually takes all day. For the most part people bid in the last few minutes anyway, so having them all together has actually made that a little easier.

Hey Pastor Bill, Thanks for the heads up on the laptops.
ended up with two of them ...
tried to talk your Ebay guru into 1 shipment instead of 2 but oh well.
ordered me 2 power adapters from one of Ebays approved sellers.
