Republican Charles Djou wins in Hawaii

Postby Pastor Gary » May 22nd, 2010, 10:33 pm

It is a major win for Republicans (and conservatives in general) tonight as Djou becomes the first Republican sent to the U.S.Congress from Hawaii since Pat Saiki served from 1986-1990.

He had 39.4% of the vote in the 3-way race (1 Republican + 2 Democrats) and beat #2 by almost 15,000 votes.

you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

I ran into a guy in Pigeon Forge last month that mentioned being at a Tea Party event in Hawaii.

Yeah for Hawaii. Question, is the Republican Conservative or just moderate?

I think it was a great win...just wouldn't give high fives too much......the two Dem took votes away from each other...how will he (the Rep) do in Nov when its one Dem and one Rep? Personally, i pray that the Rep wins!

How did 2 dems take votes in a GOP primary? Dems and Repubs don't race one another in primaries. This was a special election where a seat was vacant. Djou is the Congressman elect! He will run for a full term in November of 2010.
