Just an observation....I know we all have different tastes and each of us have our favorite news/tv personalities but it's weird how some of us can seem to be polar opposites sometimes! I mean I watch Beck and think the guy is great! Right on point with what I see happening in America today. I see no fear mongering nor do I think he is a blathering idiot. Nor am I an idiot (like someone of his attackers like to call his viewers) but rather I try my best to be
fair and balanced and weigh everything out equally.
I get my news from multiple sources but Fox News is #1 in my book.
But to some, Glenn Beck is nothing more than a buffoon, to others he provides insight and knowledge that most main stream media outlets gloss over.
So I am a proud Glenn Beck fan!

Response: Here's the rub, either you and I are idiots or dawgs and his whole family tree are.

You choose. Both of you can't be right.

I think a lot of it is misunderstanding. For example, dawgs says (well, this is my understanding of what he says) that our protest to Obama care and the bailouts and whatever are because we are greedy and don't want to pay any taxes whatsoever and that if your hungry and cold to bad you just go die over there somewhere and leave me alone....which of course is completely and totally wrong.
As far as I can tell most all of us believe in fair taxation and we all want to do as Christ commands and feed the hungry and help the sick and walk in love as Christ did. I think what we disagree on is HOW to bring about help that will actually last and be effective in getting people on there feet under there own care and less dependent on others/the government for there daily needs.
Everybody needs help from time to time. We all struggle, but struggling shouldn't be a "way of life". Or quite frankly, your doing something wrong. If you were following Godly principals and exercising being a good steward with the things that Christ has given then a whole lot less people would be so dependent on a system and government of the world.
Just like the U.S. needs to break ties with foreign oil, we Christians need to break ties and be less "connected" to the Governments of this world. Christ said the Kingdom of God is basically the Government of God that is "not from this world". His Government stands against any government anywhere. His word declares to be submissive to the government for the purpose of living in tranquility with them and not have them gunning for you for wrong doing. But the word also says that we are to obey God rather than man! Even more so when those men are doing and demanding corrupt things.
I think the idea behind submission to the governments (other than of course God being in control of the flow of everything) is to keep the wolves off the backs of believers so that they can fulfill the mission of Christ to advance the gospel. Not to "get in bed" with them.
Here are a few quotes for you dawgs so you can see that I am in agreement with being submissive to the government, however, that must be balanced with the rest of the word.....obey God rather than man.
http://www.bibleinfo.com/en/topics/government"We should obey the governmental authorities that God has placed in power. It's in the Bible, Romans 13:1-4, TLB. "Obey the government , for God is the one who has put it there. There is no government anywhere that God has not placed in power. So those who refuse to obey the laws of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow. For the policeman does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don't want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he will have you punished. He is sent by God for that very purpose."
"Believers should cooperate with the authorities wherever possible. It's in the Bible, Titus 3:1, TLB. "Remind your people to obey the government and its officers, and always to be obedient and ready for any honest work."
"Sometimes obedience to God and His law may require disobedience of earthly powers. It's in the Bible, Acts 5:29, NIV. "We must obey God rather than men!"
That's only a few of several more.
