Changes for us

Just wanted to let everyone here know, God is making some changes in our lives. I will be stepping down as pastor at New Life.

It is time that the church needs a change in order to move forward, and our family needs the change, we love the people, and they have shown over and over their love for us. This coming Sunday will be our last service.

For the time being we will be moving to Stanton, KY to be closer to my Dad who is getting older and having some serious health problems. I am thankful that God is giving us some time with him, and while I know we will be led back to pastoring at some point, we will enjoy the sabbatical as well.

Keep our family in prayers as you all know the transition can be difficult with leaving friends and starting in a new school, and keep the church in prayer as they work with the overseer to move ahead from here. I know God has great things in store for both.

Absolutely. Enjoy being a SON. Taking rest is part of God's very nature. On the 7th day he rested.. not because He was tired or worn out.. but because it's whom He is. SO enjoy this well deserved rest with no condemnation!! Remember also you have to LABOR to enter into rest.. so never stop reaching for it.

Receive this below if you can. I have and it's been absolutely wonderful.

Matthew 11:28-30 (The Message)

28-30 "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

God Bless!

Actually Scooter that's generally where I spend most of deer season! Eastern KY around Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park. That's been one comfort to my oldest as he is leaving friends, I told him as soon as we get settled we'll go squirrel hunting that first weekend, and he knows we'll be in the area where we do all our hunting.

Dad asked me not to rush into a lease or mortgage yet, but to just stay with them for a little bit where we can take our time and find what we want. So if we get what we want, hunting will be close at hand! and in the mean time, we'll use my brothers' lands, and plenty of public spots not to mention we can at least practice at Dad's (and there are deer that visit the garden, I've just never actually hunted there since it's more of a back yard than woods).

Wish you well on your new endeavor.

Will you still be working at Berea?

I have been to Stanton so many times, it used to be my rest stop when I went to EKU. Enjoy, love that town. Used to be the COGOP state campgrounds. I think there is a furniture store where the dorms used to be. Many sweet memories of that town.

yes Billy, I'll still work at Berea, it's about the same drive, just the other direction.

Stanton is a beautiful area, I'm not sure about the old dorms, I think they are apartments or something now, but the old tabernacle is a drug store. I heard someone testify at the state convention last year he got saved right there where the toothpaste is now!
