Full Quiver,
Actually that's a very good question, But to prove something unseen would be remotely impossible. Lets consider what we have in James account when using the analogy of child conception.
James 1:13-15 wrote: 13When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. 15Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. (NIV)
For those of KJV:
James 1:13-15 wrote:13Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. (KJV)
Notice it states that God doesn't tempt, nor is there any indication of Satan tempting man, but man himself is tempted by his own evil desires.
And when that seed of evil desire is planted in his heart that would bring forth sin, sin then death.
So all we know about Satan is that scripture does tell us that he the "tempter" came to Jesus to tempt him. Your question then turns and asked does the tempter apply to us as well?
Paul writes to Ephesians about putting on the whole armour of God, as if we are in battle with the spiritual world. As in reference to Romans 13:12 as to casting off the works of darkness [flesh] and putting on the armour of light [Spirit].
Romans 13:14 wrote:14But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
So then lets take another look at the tempter and how he works. Looking at the temptations of Jesus wouldn't we say that Satan tempted Jesus with the fleshly things of this world?
Would Satan dare to use our own flesh against us, and through cunning devices set those things that our flesh desires before us causing us to be tempted by the tempter.
In other words guard your heart by placing the shield of faith around you that it may quench out all the fiery darts of the wicked, and place and helmet to guard you mind and this is through savlation, and sword of the Spirit, the wordof God.
So does Satan tempt us? Who does the solicitation and enticing wouldn't that be Satan.?
