yup. pretty kewl. seeing someone else show that this is a possibility is awesome. not that a miracle didn't happen, but that it is something that is often discounted even from a "Christian" perspective, by using exegesis (incorrectly in my opinion) about the "reed sea".

I saw a documentary a while ago that give the possibilty that a elevated channel was found between one side to the other, and reasoned that perhaps that's how they came across on dry land. With the help of an gale force wind. Pretty interesting at least.

Indeed.. All extremely interesting fantasy fabrication.
What I always glean is.. somehow if Man can even closely explain the single narrow event.. it somehow refutes the existence of God across all situations. While totally ignoring everything else on 100 levels.

I don't see this as negating God, as much as showing how these things can and did happen.
The Bible says God made a wind to blow and it pushed back the waters, some want to say that's impossible, now we see it is not, thus PROVING the Bible, not disproving it.
It reminds me of 4th grade science class, we were living for a short time in the small town of Versailes IL, and the little girl in front of me would raise her hand to answer every question.
Teacher: "How is a rainbow created?"
Girl: "God does it"
Teacher: "OK, but HOW does God do it?"
I don't remember the girls name, but she was quick to respond, and the teacher acknowledged God, but also still taught the lesson about light refracted through water droplets.
That lesson has always stuck with me.

Clearly we are not watching the same Discovery, Learning Channel.
I'm not saying that it's spoken obviously.. but that is the underlying meaning / detective nature to disprove.. from the word usage and cause effect situational circumstances.
Most of the tone of these researches don't attempt to validate the Word of God. They attempt to chip away at it and offer plausible excuses.
I completely enjoy most of the programs as I love to learn and see what they can fabricate to "explain" it away. Example: God doesn't have to blow a volcano in the ocean to part water etc.
Try viewing it from that perspective next time. That is all I'm tweaking.

I'm not speaking for the discovery channel itself, on that I know what you mean, but I don't think this came from that source, and in general I don't think that this type of research hurts the cause of Christ at all.

Absolutely not.. because it makes plausible the simple miracle instead of all these wild situational random events that had to happen to result in this perfectly timed / executed extraordinary event.

OR because it makes plausible the event itself, and the timing situational randomness of the events coming at the perfect time ARE the miracle.
While God CAN do anything, He did create the order and physical properties of things, and just because it takes us thousands of years to figure out the mechanics of the how doesn't mean He didn't orchestrate it by those means in an instant.
