Democrats have lost the Alabama Legislature. Lowell Barron, the single most powerful state senator, was soundly defeated by a Republican upstart. I don't know if the Republicans will win 60 seats in the House in DC, but this is incredibly stunning in Alabama. For the first time ever a Republican governor and legislature. We'll see if the lobbyists now lose their grip on the state. I predict it'll be more of the same.
