A little story on irony.....

This afternoon, I got a call from someone I'll identify as "Pentecostal of the first part". (There's a reason for this!) Seems her daughter had gotten a speeding ticket, had night court in 15 minutes, and they called me for last second advice. The speeder was P1's 16 year old daughter whose story for speeding actually made sense but I know the guy who's the judge and he wasn't going to buy it. (Positively horrible, bitter little man.) So, they go to court, pay court costs, get the young 'un in a driving class to mitigate the fine, and they go toward home.
While on their way home on the curvy road from the little town hall, a car speeds up behind them erratically. They speed up to put distance between them. The trailing car speeds up more, weaves and......runs off the road into a ditch, flipping dramatically into the air and lands wheels down on the road.
P1 pulls over. Another lady --- whom we'll identify as "Pentecostal of the second part" -- was in a car behind him and she likewise stopped and ran toward him. When P1 got there, this lady P2, who P1 does not know, has laid her hands upon the stunned, bewildered, busted up, conscious and talking driver and is speaking in tongues as she tells him "Son, I know you've got troubles, but I know the God who will help you through them all." At which point, P1 jumps in and says, "Amen, sister."
And, they both begin to pray for this guy, who is trying to assure them that he's alright.
P1 calls 911 and they arrive, at which point the Pentecostals of the first and second part depart and go their separate ways.
The moral of this story is speeding will help you get exactly where you need to be.
