When Leonard Kendrick went to heaven on April 15, I lost the closest thing to a "father" I've ever known. He meant the world to me....we talked often, and I had promised him the very day before that I would make a special trip to Cleveland and spend time with him.
The Perrys sang it so well,
"If I have to knock on every mansion door, and walk miles of golden streets; If I have to search among the millions of saints who rest at Jesus' feet; I will run along the jasper walls, and call your name upon the wind..I will find you again..."
Wayne Haun (well known writer/producer in Nashville) wrote this song about five years before his preacher-Grandfather went to heaven...this was his tribute to them...
It brings tears to my eyes....and causes me to long for heaven even more...
