What did your spouse do for Valentine's?

Postby dolfan » February 15th, 2011, 6:03 am

We ate a quick dinner at Logan's, exchanged cards, gifts. I received a heart of chocolates (how's that for a turnabout?), and gave a Third Day CD and Mp3 NASB. We got a new Kids Adventure Bible for our daughter.

My daughter's 1st grade class did a program/party that was just sweet, including the class singing "Old Time Religion" and playing spoons in unison. Her teacher is fantastic.

I also was texted the YouTube link to "I'm Picking Out A Thermos For You". :D

You cannot effectively love and minister to others when you are obsessed with protecting

we started off by getting up that morning. I was up at about 4 and she was probably up at about 6. I was at work by 5, and she was at work by 8.

we both worked at our jobs.

I got home at about 3 or so, and she got home at about 5.
we had supper, watched a movie together and then went to bed.

so, not much special, otherwise. but Mary and I talk about and show each other, being each others valentine on a weekly basis. it is part of our marriage. it is part of our relationship. it is about maintaining that active love all the time. "honeymooning" is a paradigm in our marriage. it is not only a physical celebration after the wedding ceremony.

:)
you asked. :)
Thanks, Brent "RamboPreacher" Hoefling

Our Church for the past several years has an annual Marriage Retreat.

This year it was in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Our guest speaker was Tim and Karen Harper. They did an outstanding job. We had about 45 couples to join us. We have a Friday Night and SAT & Sun Am Sessions of about 2 hours each. We usually have some sort of fun time session to start each session and then the speaker finishes the session.

Pasadena

Postby Pastor Gary » February 16th, 2011, 9:25 pm

We're still in Pasadena, so we went out to my wife's choice, P.F. Chang's at Paseo Colorado. I got her a Mylar heart-shaped balloon and cards. Last night we went to Glendale Galleria & Americana where I replaced a heart-shaped necklace she lost, as a birthday/Valentine's Day gift. Oh... I also gave her two dozen roses.

We both exchanged heart shaped candy, but I really have to come through on her birthday which is the 19th.

Well, I think I did okay, we'll see. I took her out for dinner and I got her a full day at the spa. It's wasn't on her birthday, but when she has time [full day].
