Japan support -- question

I'm probably making this too hard for myself.

I want to give something to help with Japan's relief efforts. Right now, I'm leaning toward the Salvation Army. But, I also know that COGOP has missionaries in Japan (the Corbetts, Varlacks were once there, maybe still are, I dunno). PG probably has some contacts there from any number of connections.

I'm looking for a place where what we can do will do the most good the soonest. Advice and suggestions are much appreciated.

A friend who goes to our local church has been to Haiti numerous times and leaves for Japan tomorrow. She is part of Empact Northwest

very worthwhile organization and 100% donations go to the cause. Volunteers have to pay their way for airline tix.

Samaritan's Purse

The Corbetts are indeed in Japan, far south of the latest disaster area, and I'm certain they could/would channel aid. If you seek a bigger agency, I recommend Samaritan's Purse. They have an existing presence on the ground in country and have extensive experience with disaster relief.

Empact Northwest

Pastor Gary, quick video features Pak Keung & Joanna Wong's daughter Sil who was part of the Japan crew that just got back from Japan.
