Elva Howard, mother of COGOP General Overseer Bishop Randy Howard was critically injured in a freak accident. She was shopping at a LOWE'S when a truck crashed into the building. Sister Elva is a legend in our COGOP heritage, and our prayers are with her and the family.

E.C. McKinley visited tonight and relates that, "Sister Howard is in a lot of pain and could use our prayers tonight. Randy Howard and Kathryn Creasy were both there helping with her care. Let's all remember to hold them up in prayer tonight."

What a unfortunate accident to happen to such a Grand lady. I know she has experienced many things in her life. She is a fighter and our prayers are with her at this hour.

She is in my thoughts and prayers. She was agreat influence in my life and ministry in the formative years and I have always felt indebted to her and to the cause of Missions and Ladies Retreat! I count her friendship a personal treasure.

Can anyone give us an update?

Sister Howard is in rehab at Siskins in Chattanooga. She is doing better. She had 5 cracked ribs and 2 cracked vertebrae. Although still in a lot of pain she is doing better than expected according to Randy on friday.
