Moderators: Pastor Gary, The J2 Mod Squad

I know that many new churches are organizing independently of denomination and are definitly more non-traditional. Our new church meets in a Coffee House every week and is predominenty younger people.
The problem with older congregations is the generational gap. Denominational leaders have recognized this for a while...but don't seem to know how to change things. The money is still in the older generations pockets...therefore they tend to have the control. Many times they refuse any change. I've pastored two existing older congregations and don't think I'd ever go back.
Somehow there has to be a re-connect to where the older generation wants to mentor the younger and is willing to compromise...and the younger generation needs to be willing to be mentored and compromise...otherwise...older congregations will continue to die off and new churches will continue to struggle at the lack of funding...the newer churches will alos suffer at the lack of wisdom and experience that should be passed on from elder church members...
