We will be celebrating "Freedom Day" tomorrow at the Church of God of Prophecy, Greer, SC.

Are any of the J2 Pastors, regardless of the denomination, planning special activities for Sunday, July 3?

No

Not so much. I struggle with the tendency seen in the past for such events to cross a subtle line from celebrating to worship, and that's troublesome for me. I love America. I worship God. (Not intended in any way to suggest that's the case with you!)

Please notice that I said "Special Activities" not worship services.

I have participated in the 4th of July parade in a nearby rural town, Dunlap, Tennessee. It is the largest 4th of July celebration in East Tn. We got these "Little Bibles" which have a few salvation scriptures in them and threw them as well as candy to the crowd. It was a great witness attempt and people seem to like them.

We will have a beach picnic on the 4th with a cookout and kits of good fellowship under a tent. There's a community fireworks display that night on the beach.

Tough life. I know I hate you but I don't know whether my sin is envy, jealousy, covetousness, or a combination of the 3. I like to define my sins before I ask God to forgive me.

Sorry PastorP. I was referring to Pastor Gary and his reference to being in Hawaii, a beach picnic, & fireworks over the ocean. Just teasing the man living in Paradise.

Slightly off topic: We went to a local church fireworks event last night that had the best fireworks show I've ever seen in person. Even better than the ones at the Spirit of America Festival in Decatur (AL) at Point Mallard Park over the years. Was blown away by the organization and smooth flow of everything that happened at this country church. Very well done.
