You know IHOP is supposed to be the hottest thing happening in Pentecostalism now, several of my COGOP firends actually make pilgramages out to the IHOP to partake in the "WONDERFUL" worship.
If this is any example, I'll pass.

Sigh....all I know is that I listened to the link with my family in the room. (you know the ones that can make a party out of ANYTHING)
NOW, my daughters are "doing" the video at the top of their lungs in my house. Thanks, Gerald....please send Advil.

I would like to clarify: My distaste is Content, or lack there of.
Without content, the song is nothing but a mesmerizing chant, no different than primitive drum pounding music accompanying a dance around a boiling pot in the deepest darkest part of Africa 200 years ago.

Gerald, with all due respect and not trying to be argumentative, but what about worship in other countries. There are places around the globe that the worship certainly sounds primitive and unless the Spirit interprets the language to us we don't have a clue what's being said, etc.
That said, I really don't know that we can judge the heart of those worshipping based upon our own preference with regard to worship styles and/or content unless it's overtly sacrilegious. I mean some people worship God to "I'll Fly Away", but it is obviously more of a celebration song than a true worship song.
Just saying...

What happen to decernment?
1Co 12:10
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
If our spirit and the Spirit of God are one then should not we be able to decern what is right and not in those type of services. I've been to places to where my spirit didn't agree with the spirit that was there, so I got up and left.

Where does it end Pastor Ables? It's wide open for "worship songs" Now.
One church does Ozzy Ozzbournes "Crazy Train" on Sunday morning...Do a youtube search for Crazy Train Church.
Using your own criticism how can you say that is wrong! After all Who are YOU to say who they're worshiping?
Do another youtoube search for "Holy ghost hokey pokey" where they sing the Hokey Pokey song
AND CLAIM HEALING AND DELIVERANCE.
These are REAL churches doing NUTTY things and I'm not going to be one to stand around and say "Who are we to Judge" I'm stating flatly: These churches are nuts. Thy're idiots and buffoons, deceived by their own simple minds.

You are comparing apples to oranges now. I didn't realize we were discussing worshipping the devil.
Seriously, I am referring to legitimate worship songs. I do realize that there is fanaticism out there, and I am offended when churches offer an intermingling Baal worship with that of Jehovah God.
Nevertheless, there is a vast difference in a modern worship song that says "We Will Ride" and a song like "Crazy Train"...
I can agree with you on this particular line of thought, but I was just saying that sometimes legitimate worship to God is frowned upon due to personal preference, preconceived views of what God will accept or reject, or sometimes a misunderstanding of various worship genres and/or worship culture.

I dont think it is apples and oranges.
Not in the least.
If one sits and chants about the "rhythm of heaven" What does that mean?
Can a Christian sing it? Well they obviously do.
Can an Islamist? Nothing to prevent them.
A Hindu? a Buddhist?
If there is NOTHING content wise to prevent anyone from singing it to a different GOD then the DIFFERENCE then becomes WHAT THE PERSON SUPPOSEDLY INTENDS.
IF INTENTION is the only difference then someone CAN sing Crazy Train or the Holey Pokey or "Do you think I'm Sexy" if one wishes. WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE THE INTENT!!!!????
IN fact I have decided the perfect Pentecostal worship song is the following:
De do do do, de da da da
Is all I want to say to you
De do do do, de da da da
Their innocence will pull me through
De do do do, de da da da
Is all I want to say to you
De do do do, de da da da
They're meaningless and all that's true
Wait for it, it'll be sung somewhere.
