I thought the church was past this!

How on earth can a church claim to be a follower of Jesus and do this kind of stuff?

"the church" now that is a broad brush that needs a more narrow definition. :lol: 8)
What we need here is a good revival! lol

Sick, disgusting, and speaks for itself. Does NOT bear witness to Christ.
Human government bears the same relation to hell as the church bears to heaven. (David Lipscomb, On Civil Government, 72).

the CHURCH?

Postby Pastor Gary » December 2nd, 2011, 10:00 am

Anybody can build a building and label it a church (See: Westboro Baptist Church) but that doesn't make it one. This is more about one man with some very old-fashioned racial ideas imposing them.

This says as much about that particular community as it does about the church.

(And that guy would have a heart attack if he came to REUNION.)
"God is excited to show you mercy. He rises to give you His compassion." (Isaiah 30:18)

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

My 2 cents. That church is about 20 miles from where I am from in Ky. It is a Freewill Baptist church, not part of the SBC, it is a dif denomination. The former pastor is the one who is responsible for this. The new Pastor ok'ed for this couple to come back to church. The former pastor then went to the board. This church is more like a family church, most of the members are related.
The people in that area are not racist, I know, that is my home area. There are people like this everywhere, it is not exclusive to East Ky.. All the people I have spoken with from there are very upset with this and embarrased about it as well because it makes them seem racist. I have a first cousin who married a black man and there have been no problems with this.
Just my 2 cents. Thanks.
To God be the Glory.

I was in a meeting with some Freewill denominational leaders today who asked for prayer for this situation.
"...The life you see me living is not 'mine,' but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I am not going to go back on that."- Galatians 19:20 (The Message)
