Concerning criticism

So this nice kid from Florida gets drafted into the NFL and, surprise, surprise, wins a bunch of games. Yet despite his efforts to do his best, the haters have come out of the woodwork, and his critics are persistent. He addresses the criticism in this clip:

"There's only one thing more contagious than enthusiasm, and that's a bad attitude." ~ Tim Tebow

They can't do anything about him. They can't shut him up. They don't know to do with him. I'm loving it!

The thing is they made this huge deal that he could never be an NFL quarterback and now that he is and is having success they cannot stand it. He may fall flat on his face next week but I love him, rooted for him when he was at Florida, and though I am not a Denver fan I hope the best for him.

Sure there are Christians on other teams and assuredly they are prying for victories as well, but part of me hopes that God takes this young man's humility and open dedication to HIM and makes Denver a winner in the midst of all the haters and hopefully someone might be convinced that God must be on the throne seeing how Tebow "isn't capable in himself".

Of course God's favorite quarterback would have to beat God's favorite team, The Steelers, in order to get to the Superbowl so let's not count those chickens before they hatch.

Can I get an amen from the Creasy corner?

I love the part where the kid sent the picture, "I'm tebowing while chemoing"... Awesome. Tim has the opportunity to be a huge role model while serving as an ambassador for Christ. We need to pray for him to stay strong.

This has nothing to do with the topic of criticism. It is just too convenient of an example to compare two athletes and the way they think about Jesus.

The only thing I add is that Tim will always be an ambassador for Christ.. because it's who he is - it's not a ploy, an act or show.

I pray that he continues to just be himself, relax and do as he sees fit. That appears to be just fine.
