A few months ago we had a new guy show up at church, invited by one of our young ladies, and he came and stayed with us. One year ago he was an atheist. Now he is a Spirit-Filled, passionate worshipping, enthusiastically volunteering follower of Jesus.

Pretty great.

His marriage has been falling apart for a long time, and he found it necessary to move out. He asked a coworker if he could move in and share an apartment with him, and stipulated "drug and alcohol free... no party house!" and the friend agreed... and started attending church with him.

Did I mention they are very popular tattoo artists? (I have no tats, and am not a fan of tats, but I have lots of members who are covered.)

Artist #1 came to my office yesterday and asked for 3 things...
1) He wants to be Baptized in water ASAP
2) He wants to join our church
2) He wants to begin the process of becoming a Deacon.

It's pretty wonderful.

Very Awesome....you had me at covered in tats...lol...jk...I would be interested in finding out how you handle and transition one from new attendee, to baptism, to church member, to deacon...

I know we have certain time limits and certain requirements for Deacons...but I am definitely on the side of stream-lining and getting people plugged into the church asap...

Blessings, Daniel

Sunday during the musical worship a guy walked in, sleeved-out with tattoos and gauges in his ears. (Those big holes in the earlobes.) I was introduced to him as yet ANOTHER tattoo artist from the same shop. He listened intently to the message, which he later said "felt like it was directly for him." and stayed for prayer at the end of the service. I'll know this week for sure, but I think he gave his heart to the Lord.

Amazed and grateful.

PG, when radical people get saved it's a good day in the Kingdom! Radical types are the best types to have in your church. They are not afraid of anything and they will passionately advance the kingdom while some of your "church material" will sit on their cans!

Steve Curington, the late founder of Reformers Unanimous, said that if you don't have people with tats and piercings in your church, something's wrong with your church.

For those who might think Steve Curington was probably a hippie....here's his photo.

He had a lot more in common with Richie Cunningham than Brian Head Welch. At least, he did after he became a Christian. His "BC" photos would make you think he was a good ol' Alabama redneck.

Congrats, PG. Keep showing these men the radical life giving Jesus Christ. The one that turned religion on it's head. Walked his own way and forever changed the world with Love and acceptance.
