Super Bowl halftime finger controversy

Another year, another act of halftime indecency at the Super Bowl. The thing that amazes me the most is not the act itself -- what can you expect from people who love the world, right? They're going to act just like they are. And, put them on the world's largest stage, they will fill it with themselves. I suppose everyone should be glad MIA didn't come out naked and with her hair on fire, truthfully.
The amazing thing to me is the media reaction to it. Fox & Friends huffed and puffed about it, but say nothing of Fox's own shows that are as bad or worse (ever see FX's Sons of Anarchy? Rescue Me?). CNNs on location reporter was talking about it this morning. Really? When you routinely emphasize stories and storylines that glorify abortion and homosexuality?
Not to minimize the disgust we feel when we can't even watch a football game for fear of a public sex act or four-letter expletive, but to watch the media go apoplectic on this when they salivate over their own actions of the same kind, degree and depravity.....you'd figure they actually endorse what MIA did. I'd actually probably feel better if they'd just not even report on what happened, or at least say, "You know what? We're no better."

Watched a few commercials. Few tiny clips of the team while I was busy doing other things... BUT watched the entire half time show... because of eating and never seen the offensive act. None of us did and my kids would have been the first to zero in on it.. if was that noticeable.
I was nervous with just watching Madonna jump around with some of her antics.. but I was to lazy to get the remote more while I consumed the groceries.
I was so disinterested that my friend iMessaged me and told me who won before I noticed it. Go Mississippi.

watched it and never noticed it.
There's enough current talent I always wonder why the NFL constantly has older act do the halftime show anyway... (Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, The Who......)
oh well, wasnt much interested in the game and the commercials were not all that great either.

Missed the entire game because we added 9 new members and went to the beach and baptized 6 people, followed by our DNA Discipleship Training School. I'll watch the ads online.
You'd think they might go for a younger act... Justin Bieber? Taylor Swift? Somebody a little family friendly?

Watched the second half after church. Excited for Eli as he made the Rebel Nation proud.
My wife and I were offended that the Super Bowl aired a Kia ad with Motley Crue and a boat load of bikini clad girls, while rejecting to air the Look It Up ad (John 316) citing it as too religious.
Oh well!

MIA hasn't had a hit in ages, she hasn't been in the spotlight so she knew that by flipping off the camera she'd get her name out there again. And look, it worked. If she would just use her talent, which I assume she must have to revive her career but instead she uses an indecent gesture so maybe she will remain Missing In Action.
Jay Leno's observation...

Up until this "incident" I had been blissfully unaware of MIA. However now that I have heard, and seen her, I determined to do some research about her. What I found was that she has a weak voice with NO range, little talent outside of chanting, and garish taste in clothing. I only wish that I were still "blissfully unaware."

I'll be honest ... when I posted about the MIA thing above, I had to Google to see if MIA was a man or a woman. I really didn't know. Never heard of her before this week. Obviously, we didn't miss anything.
