Yes the church needs to use technology to it's advantage, to the glory of God.

Yes the church needs to adapt and grow.

How does technology and the discussion of whether or not the church uses it have anything to do with hymns? Sounds like two different discussions to me.

A local church can sing Amazing Grace every service and use technology to it's fullest potential. Just sounds like two different topics to me.

What I see as a problem is that groups of believers, congregations, local cliques (yes I said that) would rather have their own church on the corner across from another church, down the street from another church, behind another church INSTEAD of working together as ONE congregation and exercising the Word which declares that together we can accomplish things at an EXPONENTIAL rate where as 2 people together only accomplish a little.

For example, there is a local AG church within blocks of the AG church that I attend. We are a mega church and I see first hand things getting accomplished exponentially. The other church is a typical local congregation that never grows, never changes, and for the most part never gets a return for the Lord on the "talent" he entrusted to them. That's just an observance on my part.

Of course I was once a member of TCoG and they were, we were, happy to have a local church even if it was comprised of one or two members. Shoot, we'd have one in every little town like that if we could. If they'd use some wisdom they'd see the power of the Word and combine all those people, really not a lot still, and get something done instead of the "churches" being a drag.

Every denomination has this issue though. Mega-churches get knocked and some deservedly but the model has a purpose and from my experience, growing up in small Baptist churches and being in smaller TcoG churches, & now part of a mega church, I have discovered that God receives far more glory when His people come together and work together for the common good of the Gospel instead of doing a little here and a little there.

Now I am convinced that someone or a few will take my words wrong, twist them, or even be "offended" but I have seen it happen with my own eyes and I know it to be true in my experience. :D
