Your thoughts?

Seems like a genuinely likable guy, very smart, conservative. I think a lot of people were hoping for a fiery choice like Christie or Rubio, but Ryan should be able to eat Biden for breakfast in a debate.

I don't know that much about him, but as I watched and listened to him yesterday the thought ran through my mind that this man has it together. I definitely think he can make taffy of Biden.

Well, my father who is in his 70's said "its the end of social security which is my money and that's theft". Now my dad may be wrong but it doesn't really matter. Perception wins elections.

But I support him.

I'd personally give up my Social Security money today if starting on this Friday's payroll my money went into a private account.

If we think the govt. isn't robbing us blind by the day then we are fools so we shouldn't worry about Social Security.

Romney's choice of Ryan tells me one important thing. Mitt is capable of surrounding himself with people that could be considered better than him. He is a delegater and doesn't mind being out shined by those he appoints. This is humility, wisdom, and a guy that is serious about solving problems.

Obama on the other had choice Biden, a laughing stock, and someone who would never compete with Obama for the people's attention.

I believe that the Tea Party is on board and I personaly made a small, very small financial donation earlier this morning to the R&R campaign!

I like the choice

I REALLY like his ideas...

But he will have a DIFFICULT time selling himself (not to mention Mitt Romney) the Medicare/Medicaid/Social Security crowd.

This time the YOUNGER voters can do for Romney/Ryan what they did for the Obama/Biden team in 2008.

Let's just hope they LISTEN first and then VOTE...

I don't give two hoots, personally. I did, though, find it interesting that he vocally embraced Ayn Rand's explanations for the "morality of capitalism" when she was not only an atheist but an anti-theist. I would admit that if I were not a Christian, I would probably park my head in her views myself seeing as how one kind of death is probably just as good as another.

My point is that I don't care who it is -- Ryan, Romney, Obama, Clinton, Bush, whomever -- politics is about the marshaling of power at the expense of others. Ayn Rand was no better than Marx when you get down to it. She staunchly said "All the power I can get is mine, so leave me alone, government, I've got a life to run of getting all I can no matter what since I am my only god"; he said "all the power I can get is mine, so I'm coming after you with a government, and it'll be your god."

ONLY the kingdom of God introduced by Jesus and reigned by Him is the sole entity that GIVES power. That promise is made up front. It will cost you --- YOU --- but the power of God and Christ in you is promised in its place.

Phil, more money from seniors has been donated to Ryan's upcoming Congressional campaign than any other candidate has received from the same voting block. Seniors can do math unlike many of the younger crowd.

The recent crowds are saying a lot. R&R draw over 10k in NC and Biden draws under 700. The writing is on the wall. Romney figured out how to get th Conservatives in play for sure.

Temporary bump...initial excitement.

The real tale will be told in mid-late October...and the FAT LADY will sing in early November.

I was shocked for the first time in a while. I love the choice nobody saw it coming. He is a master at budget. He is smart and one of few to win elections in a very democratic state.
I really look forward to the biden debate. Again I think it was a great choice and will be good for the campaign.

Dolfan politics is what it is but business needs things to change. They can not afford tax increases and a depleting economy. Romney is a polotician but Obama will put in full force all he wanted to do but held back because of the election.

Just as Governor Bob McCdonell pulled VA out of a deficit to a surplus in four years. Cuts, new business etc. How? he let business operate without the government stopping them. He went to china and convinced them to allow virginia to make products for them and then had two factories built. Anyway this is about taxes and business for me not to mention not cutting militarty spending.

While I like the man

He needs to make sure that he is CRYSTAL CLEAR about his plans for Medicare/Medicaid/Social Security.

The Geriatric Generation will vote in LARGE NUMBERS. Congressman Ryan needs to win their hearts EARLY AND OFTEN....if not, he needs to make sure he wins his congressional seat again.
