Anyone familiar with Edward T. Welch?

My wife is on the cusp of joining a Saturday night ministry at the county jail. The ministry is for women and is taught by a local parachurch group that has deep inroads to inmates and provides all kinds of classes for kids, etc. They are using Crossroads, a study by Edward T. Welch, as the curriculum for the jail ministry to women. Now, from what I see online -- and it isn't much, so that's why I'm fishing here -- it looks quite good. But, you don't see it widely published and available (Amazon, CBD and Westminster Books is about it; B&N has some used copy sellers linked). Not everything that is really good is widely published, I know! (Reformers Unanimous is good, but not widey published.)

Seems that Dr. Welch is quite the guy on addictions and breaking their power. But, I like to know more. If you know of him, his work or anyone using his work, I'd appreciate some feedback, however long or short.

Thanks!

I searched him on Amazon.com and found a LOT of published materials by him that looked excellent. His bio indicates that he teaches at an outstanding theological seminary in Philadelphia. Very much a reformed tradition school, but a wonderful reputation. That, alone, would cause me to take him seriously.

My wife started reading the Crossroads book yesterday. She says it looks very helpful. I glanced through it and it appeared to me as really well laid out. His video on YouTube is good.
