Divine Appointment

28 years ago, Roy Cantrell was our pastor in Chattanooga. He was excited about Evangelism Explosion. He had been to Fla. for training for this at D. James Kennedy's church. He come back, and trained several in our local church. We began to visit every Thursday. Prospects we had submitted to us by friends, relatives or some connection to our church. It was not just random door to door visitation. We had some sort of connection with that person. It was very successful as our church grew very much that year. God really blessed this program. Pastor Cantrell taught us to be aware of divine appointments we have. A intervention with someone that is not just by chance. God arranges these moments for us.
Today, my mom had such a divine appointment. She & my dad went to eat at a local restaurant. They sat down and a man behind them was on the phone. He was talking loud and apparently did not care if someone heard his conversation. He had heart trouble & was going to have surgery. He was scared and upset. He said he did not know the Dr. who was going to do the open heart surgery. My mom knew the Dr. The man began to cry. My mom told him she knew the Dr. and that he was a good one. She engaged in conversation with him and then she asked him if he was scared. He said he was. She asked him if she could pray with him. He agreed. Just then, one of our pastors in the area came in. He joined them in prayer. They lead the man to Christ. Praise The Lord! This was truly a divine appointment.
