dalebert,
I was impressed. And that's saying a lot about a yankee!

Seriously, Hawk seems to have everthing needed to excell if he stays healthy. He will be fun to watch.

i agree that he will be fun to watch.....he can be another Jack Lambert (Steelers) if he stays health...JL was a great linebacker
it seems that not to many OSU linebackers that were drafted high in the pro's went on to become great...but i can see the "Hawk" breaking that....

Florida A&M University had a long time head coach, Jake Gaither, who used to say; "I like my boys to be agile, mobile, and hostile." Hawk seems to fit that. Coach Gaither also had an Ohio State connection, he completed his Master's degree there in 1937.
For those that might not know about Jake Gaither, he was the head coach of the FAMU Rattlers for 25 years. He amassed an impressive record of 204-36-4. He produced 36 All-Americans, and 42 of his players went on to play in the NFL. His teams won 22 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships and six Black College National Championships. Jake Gaither was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Decade. He was named College Division Coach of the Year by the American Football Coaches Association in 1962, and was voted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1975. He also received the Amos Alonzo Stagg Award and the Walter Camp Award that year.
I think that coach Gaither would have loved to have coached A.J. Hawk.
