College Football

Postby Rob » January 2nd, 2008, 9:38 am

IMHO College football has the best regular season of all college sports, but yet it has the worse post season of any college sports. This year more than ever since the beginning of the BCS the BCS games are terrible. If the BCS was suppose to pit the best games including the #1 vs. #2 they have done a terrible job.

What I would have loved to have seen is this:

Rose Bowl: USC vs. UGA
Sugar Bowl: Hawaii vs. Il.
Orange Bowl: Va. Tech vs. Oklahoma
Fiesta Bowl: Kansas vs. WVU

Now who doesn't think those games would have been better than what we have had this year?

Hindsight being 20/20, I think Missouri should've been allowed into a BCS bowl. As far as they are capable of "getting it right", I think the BCS does so, but when you weigh in bowl/conference tie-ins, it's hard to get the matchups you (and I) would've preferred.

I would LOVE to see an SEC team in the Rose Bowl again. It's been since 1945 that it last happened. Alabama leads the SEC in Rose Bowl appearances with 7, and has a 6-1 record. Tennessee has 3 or appearances and UGA has 1 (I think that's right). Georgia Tech has one appearance when it was part of the SEC.

When this BS started, I mean BCS started they were to pit the two best teams for the NC and then pit the best teams against each other in the other bowl games, but the "Grand idiot" otherwise known as the Rose Bowl had to stick with tradition and see what it got them? A great blow-out in USC and IL.

It would have made it a bit more interesting this year. USC just had their way.
Let the wild rumpus start!
