Can't wait till Oct. 23 when WVU plays Auburn. I'm hoping to go to that game.

Rob, That does look like a potentially interesting game.
Of course, for us UT fans (there are still some of us left), we are circling that Bama/UT game. Hopefully the other side of the family can be as gracious losers as we were last year.

I'll be gracious if we lose. IF.

Does anyone know if there is another conference that has more or equal number of active coaches that have won national championships? I count 6 for the SEC. Thats a lot of talent.

Well the PAC-10, Big 12, Big 10 all have 2 the ACC has 1 and the SEC by my count has 5, wondering who the sixth is.
Fulmer - UT
Saban - Bama (won at LSU)
Meyer - UF
Spurrier - UF
Myles - LSU

Rob, did you count Auburn's 2003 NC (self-awarded by Tuberville)?

Nope, only counted those recognized by the NCAA not a bunch of rednecks from Auburn.

Redneck from, TN here counted Tuberville at Auburn. Were they not co- champions? Doesn't matter much.
With the coaching staff alone, SEC finally can truly claim being the toughtest conference in the country.

Okay, let me clarify a few things. I was told by a friend of mine from Alabama that Auburn stands for:
A- Alabama
U- Usually
B- Beats
U- Us
R- Red
N- Necks
Thus the redneck comment. Since the BCS there has been only one shared NC that was when LSU beat OK and the AP crowned USC. I could be wrong but that's what I remember and no I have not googled it to search it.
Allen, I don't know where you have been, but on this board even though we have some that have ties to different conferences it is the consensus of this board that the SEC is the toughest football conference. No doubt it will be again this year.
