Billy Packer is out!

Postby Rob » July 15th, 2008, 5:18 am

CBS has let Billy Packer go and will replace him with Clark Kellog. I must admit I will not miss Billy one minute of any game. He was a total ACC guy. Duke, UNC and the rest. He always bashed Mid-Majors as they had not business in with the big boys.
If I were to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for business. I do the very best I know how, the very best I can, and I mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out right, what is said against me won't amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swearing I was right will make no difference." -Abraham Lincoln

I agree as well.

SI is saying what did him in was when Kansas was up 38-12 on UNC and he declared "This game is over." Having one of your color commentators do that is like telling your viewers to turn the tv off, which doesn't bode well for advertisers during commercials (which of course is where the networks get their money).
