It's weird because I was on YouTube watching a video of his greatest calls like 10 minutes before I heard on the radio that he had retired.
Larry is a legend.

Will he not call the UGA-Bama game? That's too bad. I wish he'd waited for that one to hang up his hat. That guy is college football at its best.

I wish he had waited as well but AJC.com says retirement is immediate.
Makes me think he does not have long.
A legend in his on right.

I agree KB. Larry would hang in there for the rest of the season if he could. He hasn't sounded great on the radio in the 2 games he's called this year.

On Paul Finebaum (if you don't know him, he's got a show from B'ham every afternoon from 2-6), Barbara Dooley (wife of Vince, for those non-SEC folks) has a weekly spot this season where she calls in, chats it up big with Finebaum and makes a sponsored pitch at the end (for some Alaskan salmon). Anyway, she said that last week she and Coach Dooley took dinner to Larry Munson's house. It was pretty funny the way she told it, but you could read between the lines and know that he isn't well at all. Shame. The legends are leaving.
