FL should have several of their injured players back (OLine, Harvin, etc), so I would go with them and their full squad. OK is good and Bradford is solid, but FL can not be matched in the speed department. You can't underestimate how good Tebow is and how much his play determines the outcome of a game.

Too bad this game wont be played until Jan 8th? my interest in College Football has reached its end by then.

I think it's ridiculous. Plenty better teams than OK/Fla out there. They just don't get recognition because they don't have the money.

Thank God Ohio State isn't in it to lose it for the 3rd straight year :)

Do you really believe that? Please provide us a list of teams better than OK & FL this year. How is their recognition based on money?

Response: That's what PG thought last year on Hawaii's behalf. He was mistaken.

  Yeah, I know the Sugar Bowl executives were disappointed and now they have it again with AL and Utah. How does the Rose Bowl get by without picking an undefeated non BCS team? I know their deal with the big 10. The Fiesta Bowl should have had to pick them. I would rather have seen an AL vs TX matchup. But I guess that's how it is...

Sports editor at the Decatur Daily here wrote an excellent column yesterday on the rules of the BCS and how Bama and Utah wound up being matched in the Sugar Bowl. The article is still on the subscriber side of the website and I have trouble paying for that actual paper out of a box, let alone subscribing to it and doubly let alone subscribing online to it. So, I'll recall as much of it as I can. It is complicated.

Rose Bowl has to take the Big 10 and Pac 10 champs if neither of them is slotted for the BCS Championship game. So, that possibility is a lock. Rose is the only bowl that must take TWO conference champs. All the other BCS bowls are obligated to only 1 each: Orange is obligated to the ACC; Sugar is obligated to SEC; Fiesta is obligated to Big 12. So, with the BCS being composed of the Big 12 and SEC champs, that left the Fiesta and the Sugar without their conference tie-in champions. Those bowls get to pick the runner-up of those respective conferences on a first right of refusal basis, so, naturally, the Sugar chose Alabama for obvious reasons. The Fiesta passed on Missouri and picked Texas on their first choice, also for obvious reasons. The Orange already has ACC winners Virginia Tech, and they had last pick on the 2nd team choices this year.

A'ight, so the situation is set up now. Fiesta had first choice after the BCS game was determined, and picked Texas. Sugar had 2nd, and picked Alabama. Orange had third, and had its conference tie-in champ VT, and picked it. Fiesta then had 1st choice of round 2. It could've picked Alabama, but the Sugar would've had to agree to it, which they didn't because they picked Alabama and there's no way in the world they wouldn't have picked Alabama. So, the Fiesta picks an at-large BCS team, Ohio State. Makes sense, because of ratings and interest, etc. They weren't going to choose Utah, even though Utah is BCS ranked #6 and OSU is #10. And, if I'm the Fiesta, I do the same thing. Alright, so now, the Sugar is left with Utah, Texas Tech, Boise and TCU.

BUT, no more than 2 teams from any conference can play in BCS bowls. So, Tech and TCU are out. That leaves Utah (undefeated and #6) and Boise (defeated and ranked #9). Sugar chose Utah because of its record, its ranking and its proximity to New Orleans compared to Boise State.

That's how it worked, then the Orange picked Cincy.

I get the rest but how is Utah any closer really to New Orleans than Boise St.?
