8-Time All Star

A first ballot slam dunk for the Hall of Fame. I was no Brave fan, but loved to watch him pitch. A true gentleman and wizard of the game.

Never have been a big baseball fan, but I was watching a game where Maddux was pitching back in the mid 1990's with a guy who'd played some college ball. He was pointing out to me what Maddux's strategy was, and how it was just a work of art. He'd call almost every pitch before Maddux threw it, just because he was big fan of Maddux and just knew his stuff that well. From then on, I was a Greg Maddux fan. The guy is really an artist at work when he pitches. Other pitchers say that kind of thing about him, and with him being a shoo-in for the HOF, it must be true. His game will be missed, but I hope he winds up in some capacity for the Braves (pitching coach??).

As well as his sportsmanship. In the era of pro thugs, steroids, police blotters, he was also a great ambassador for The Game.

I loved watching Greg Maddux growing up. He has such precision pitching the ball. It was like watching a master surgeon. I will miss him..
