Mike Groh, former UVA offensive coordinator

is Bama's newest graduate assistant.

Word is in the news this morning that Nick Saban hired him as a GA. He's still on UVA's payroll after being terminated, so he's taken an unpaid GA job at Bama. Bama opens against Va. Tech. in September at the Georgia Dome.

You have to hand it to Saban, he figures ways out to do things until someone tells him he can't. They actually rewrite rules because he figures out ways that they don't cover something and he uses that to his advantage. Some say it is cheating. I don't. I call it trying.

That said, I don't know how much Groh is a real aid for us, but I thought the tactic was at least humorous and brash. I'll leave it to time, experience and someone else to judge if he's throwing his money away (oh, wait, he's unpaid). Well, then, to see if he's throwing time and energy away. We'll see.
