Week 10-17

Another exciting week of College football. Here's my Top Ten.

1. Alabama - Sorry Dolfan, don't want to jinx you, but this is IMHO the best team in College Football right now.
2. Texas - I still think they are better than FL, but I don't see them beating Bama.
3. Florida - They don't really play anyone the rest of the season, so they will win the East, but will not fair well against Bama.
4. USC - I think they could seek in and play in the NC game, but again I don't think they can beat Bama.
5. Cincinnati - Say good bye to Kelly at the end of the season as he heads off to ND. This team maybe better than a lot of folks think.
6. Iowa - The class of the Big Ten. Not sure if that is a good thing or not.
7. Miami - Maybe the best team in the ACC, again I'm not sure that is worth a whole lot.
8. TCU - I think they should be a BCS Buster if anyone is.
9. LSU - Don't think they deserve it but we will see what happens in the next few weeks.
10. Oregon - I wish they could play Boise again now. I think it would be a different story.

Yes, Boise has not cracked my top ten and after their performance this week against Tulsa, they shouldn't be in anybody's Top Ten!

I like the list. After watching Texas, Florida and Alabama play yesterday, I think you could put either of those teams in at #1. Alabama certainly did better against Arkansas than Florida did --- I don't put a lot of stock into the "common opponent" theory of gauging how good you are, but so far that's about the only one available in comparing Alabama and Florida. They both played poorly enough yesterday to win ugly, although Bama played a better team. Hats off to Arkansas and Petrino, though; they're getting better every week.

Iowa and Cincy looked pretty good, even if Iowa had to fight back. Wisconsin is always, even in an off year, good enough to beat anyone in the conference. I think LSU beats Auburn next week, handily, but don't think they belong in the top 10. Of course, in 3 weeks, Bama has a chance to do something about that --- I hope.
